Avelynn Mitra has recently completed her MFA degree at Goddard College, where she studied using improvisational piano as one of many media to explore culture, gender, and race. She attended Berklee College of Music, where she studied jazz piano with Bob Winter, John Arcaro, and Suzanne Sifter. Avelynn is a multidisciplinary musician, a classically trained pianist, a singer-songwriter on acoustic guitar with solo performances in Canada and in the U.S., and a keyboardist for various rock and R & B bands. Avelynn is also a yoga teacher and applies her training to approach music performance, teaching, and learning.
Seungmin Paik received her bachelor's degree in music from Seoul National University, and her master's and doctoral degrees from The Peabody Conservatory where she served as accompanist coordinator from 1999 to 2003. While living in Korea, she received numerous piano competition awards, including 1st Place in the 1983 Samik Competition, 1st Place in the 1985 Chosun Times Competition, and 1st Place in the 1990 Hankook Music Competition. She has given many performances at Peabody Conservatory, Bowdoin Music Festival, the Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall as well as in London, Spain, and Korea. Seungmin Paik is currently a member of the Maryland State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.

Hyun-Ji Park graduated in May 2008 from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University with Graduate Performance Diploma. Ms Park began her piano studies at the age of four in her native town of Seoul, Korea, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master degree from Sook Myoung Women's University. She performed at the 1st International Music Festival in Caprarola, Italy and at Queensland conservatory and the Opera House during a concert tour in Australia. Ms Park has appeared as a soloist with Sophia, Youth Orchestra of Sook Myoung University where she worked as a music director. She also worked as an instructor and a teaching assistant at the piano department of Suwon University. She has given numerous recitals in Seoul and Peabody including Peabody Preparatory as an accompanist.
Mrs. Reid has been teaching piano for 29 years. She graduated from Towson State University with a bachelor's degree in music literature, where she studied with Jane Tan and Katherine Merani. Mrs. Reid taught for Jordan Kitt and Kunkel Piano and Organ Company and is on the faculty of Catonsville Senior Center. She also maintains a full studio in her home.
Pianist Joseph Satava has collaborated with orchestras, conductors, and music festivals throughout the US, Canada, France, and Spain. An avid supporter of contemporary composers, Mr. Satava has appeared in Alice Tully Hall as part of the Focus! Festival for contemporary music and in Merkin Concert Hall in New York City performing works of Keith Kramer.
Mr. Satava also holds faculty positions at the Maryland Conservatory of Music and Harford Community College, and is the program coordinator for the Gijón International Piano Festival in Gijón, Spain. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he is a doctoral graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Satava received his Master's degree at the Juilliard School and his Bachelor's at the Peabody Conservatory. His primary teachers have included Julian Martin, Marc Durand, Jerome Lowenthal, and Ann Schein.
Jane Wilbur earned her bachelor's degree at Marlboro College in Vermont, and she has a master's degree in music therapy from New York University. In addition, Jane Wilbur has Orf Schulwerk certification and a teacher's diploma from the Guidehall School of Music and Drama, London. She has taught piano lessons privately and at the Community School of Music and Art in Mountain View, California. In addition, she has led early childhood music classes in California and Singapore. She is currently teaching such classes at Bryn Mawr Little School and at Peabody Preparatory School.
Alicia Kosack - Flute
Alicia Kosack is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts degree candidate at the University of Maryland. She enjoys a diverse career as a performer of both modern and Baroque flute, and has won numerous honors, including a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award. An active soloist and chamber musician, she regularly performs with both the Trelumina Trio and Washington's Camerata, and has performed with groups such as the Ash Lawn Opera Festival, Inscape Chamber Orchestra, Washington Bach Consort, Opera Vivente, the Handel Choir of Baltimore, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, among other ensembles. She is equally committed to teaching, and in addition to Bryn Mawr is currently on faculty at York College of Pennsylvania, Roland Park Country School, and Garrison Forest School. In addition to performing and teaching, Alicia has served as Vice-President of the Flute Society of Washington and was the program chair for the 2007 and 2008 Mid-Atlantic Flute Fair. Alicia also holds a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music from the Harid Conservatory.
A native of Rome, Deborah Malavenda has pursued her violin studies on three continents. After graduating with honors from The Royal College of Music in London, she continued her studies at The Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem, receiving an artist diploma in violin performance and pedagogy, as well as playing in a prize-winning string trio. She subsequently earned her master's degree in violin performance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her teachers have included Itzhak Rashkovsky, Hagai Shaham, Marylou Speaker Churchill, and Yeon-Su Kim. As a performer, she has been a "Playing for Peace" participant at the Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival, a soloist with the Opus One Chamber Orchestra, and a member of the Gwent Chamber Orchestra in Wales. She also has worked extensively with period instruments, most recently with the Handel Choir of Baltimore. Ms. Malavenda's teaching experience is informed by a wide variety of playing techniques and approaches to music, with special emphasis on the physiology of playing and awareness through movement using the Feldenkrais Method, which has included very young children and beginners through advanced students. She also teaches in the Baltimore School for the Arts TWIGS program as well as maintaining a private studio.
Mrs. Wichert earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in violin from the University of Illinois under the tutelage of Paul Rolland. She studied with the Guarneri String Quartet and Dr. Suzuki in Japan. Mrs. Wichert produces outstanding string players from preschool level through adulthood. In addition to her private lessons, Mrs. Wichert gives violin, viola, and ensemble instruction in area private schools and teaches string pedagogy at Towson University. Mrs. Wichert is the originator and co-founder of the existing F.A.M.E. Orchestra, a 50+- member string orchestra in the metropolitan Baltimore area. Mrs. Wichert plays with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the Baltimore Opera Orchestra, and other regional groups. She also directs the Lower School String Ensemble.
Ms. McManus received her musical training in Germany and France. She earned her bachelor's degree in cello performance and music education from Nordwest Deutsche Musik Hochschule in Detmold, Germany, then continued her studies in Paris with Pierre Fournier, the leading cellist in Europe. From 1970 to 1987, Ms. McManus was first cellist in the Baltimore Bach Society and a member of the Belle Arte Ensemble. She has taught at Peabody Preparatory School and currently teaches at the Waldorf School. She also conducts private lessons.
Ms. Peters has been the harp instructor at The Bryn Mawr School for over 25 years. She received her bachelor of arts degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and continued her harp studies with Jeanne Chalifoux for many years after. She is the vice president of the Baltimore Chapter of the American Harp Society and has participated in and helped organize many of their local and regional events. She is an active freelance harpist and maintains a private teaching studio. She plays weekly for the patients and staff at the oncology unit at Sinai Hospital.
Andrea Turner McClelland has performed locally with Wolf Trap Opera, Washington Concert Opera, the Washington Arts Club, and the Baltimore Opera, where recently she portrayed Monica in Menotti'sThe Medium at the Baltimore Artscape Festival. Ms. McClelland has participated in numerous outreach programs, including an opera education tour for children with the Lake George Opera in New York. She has been a regional winner of the MacAllister Awards for Opera Singers, a finalist in the Bel Canto Foundation and Vocal Arts Society competitions, and a first prize winner in the Chicago Chapter National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition. She also has performed professionally in musical theater and as part of the family trio The Three Turners, as well as with numerous choral groups. She holds a master of music in opera from the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as a bachelor of music in voice and opera and a certificate in music theatre from Northwestern University. In addition to teaching at The Bryn Mawr School, she serves as a voice instructor at the Notre Dame Preparatory Academy in Baltimore.
Chris Maggitti earned his bachelor's in music and master's in music in classical guitar performance from Towson University, where he studied with acclaimed guitarists Michael Decker and Troy King.
Chris Maggitti is the "guitar half" of the duo MPWeddings with flutist Michael Passen. Mr. Maggitti plays frequently at concerts and special events, and he has been nationally recognized for performance excellence.
Chris Maggitti also teaches guitar at Boys' Latin School, and he maintains a successful private studio at his home in Harford County.

Guitarist Kathrin Murray is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. She holds a master's degree from the Peabody Conservatory, where she studied with Julian Gray, and a bachelor's degree from the Lamont School of Music of the University of Denver, where she was a scholarship student of Ricardo Iznaola. She also has studied at the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival and privately with composer Gilbert Biberian in England.
Upper Level Orchestra Director Matthew Horwitz-Lee co-directed the strings program in the Westboro Public School system in Boston, MA, where his instruction led several students to notable achievements at the statewide level. An experienced performer, Mr. Horwitz-Lee holds violin performance degrees from Rice University and the University of Maryland, College Park. He was a member of Symphony Pro Musica and served as concertmaster of the Vivaldi Festival Orchestra for three years. Mr. Horwitz-Lee does not teach private lessons at The Bryn Mawr School.
